Pink Friday at St. James Art Fair

The St. James Art Fair will celebrate the opening day of its three-day festival with a “Pink Out.”  Pink Friday is in recognition of the James Graham Brown Cancer Center and breast cancer awareness month.

For the first time in St. James History, the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, will have its mobile mammography unit at the fair.

Mammograms available

Friday, September 30 – from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Walk-in appointments are welcome.

Pink will be everywhere — from the pink tents to the mobile mammogram van to the pink Horses for Hope vehicle to pink bracelets and other giveaways. Even the St. James Fountain will be flowing with pink in honor of breast cancer survivors.

First Lady Jane Beshear will be signing special note cards in the James Graham Brown Cancer Center booth (4th & Magnolia) from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

After the Brown Cancer Center mammogram van departs on Friday, the Cancer center will host a cancer survivors’ tent on Saturday and Sunday.  The tent will include a special 30th Birthday Cake that survivors and family members can sign in honor of loved ones who have battled any type of cancer. Cancer survivor Nancy Alvey, who is official framer for the St. James Art Fair, and who is currently featured in Brown Cancer Center’s advertising campaign, will also be on hand to talk with survivors.
