Promoting screenings at KY State Fair

Mammograms

In 1990, the James Graham Brown Cancer Center began offering mammograms at KY State Fair to raise awareness and improve access to quality breast care.  Dr. Sarah Mizuguchi explained how that mission is just as important today to WHAS’s Terry Meiners (watch video) .

Mammograms are offered daily at the state fair from 9a – 5p in the South Wing.

Stroke

Kentucky sits in the middle of the Stroke Belt, as it is called, with a higher incidence of stroke than much of the nation.  That is why  University Hospital Stroke Center Nursing Director, Kari Moore, stopped by Great Day Live (watch video) to let everyone know about the stroke screenings and education provided by the  at this year’s state fair:  Tuesday, August 21 (10a – 4p).

Stroke Screening will include blood pressure checks as well as information and education on how tot dectect and prevent strokes.   Spin the quiz wheel to test your knowlesdge, have some fun and win prizes.  But even more important, learn how to detect warnings signs that could save the life of you or someone you love.
