James Graham Brown Cancer Center’s Bone Marrow Transplant Program Now In-Network for Humana Patients

LOUISVILLE – Humana and the James Graham Brown Cancer Center announced this week that the services of the cancer center’s Blood & Marrow Transplantation (BMT) Program and Clinic are now in-network for the Louisville-based insurance provider. The program provides treatments for leukemia and other cancers and disorders of the blood.

“This is great news for our patients,” said Leslie M. Lauterwasser, RN, BSN, OCN, BMT Program Clinical Manager. “It is important that Humana patients have access to our services and can be treated locally, especially given the significant time commitment that these treatments require.”

The James Graham Brown Cancer Center is one of just two facilities in Kentucky — the only one in the Louisville area — to offer a Bone Marrow & Transplantation Program. It is home to a group of BMT physicians whose combined experience totals more than 80 years, with a 90 percent Oncology Certified Nursing (OCN) staff.
