CT Scan
Four multi-slice scanners featuring two 64 slice scanners, one 16 slice and one 4 slice scanner. The choice in scanners gives physicians the ability to choose the most appropriate technology for each patient's needs.
MRI
Featuring the region's only 3 Tesla scanner yielding the highest resolution imaging possible.
U of L Health Care also has a 1.5 Tesla "open bore" system that reduces the claustrophobic feeling of most MRI scanners.
Nuclear Medicine
Two high tech nuclear medicine cameras, one featuring a fully automated dual head design that allows scanning of two planes simultaneously.
PET/CT
University Hospital was the first facility in the region to have both a fixed site and PET/CT fusion scanner. The latest scanner added to the department gives unsurpassed lesion detectability with the best spatial resolution in the industry.
Ultrasound
Four new/updated state-of-the-art Ultrasound machines with features that utilize the latest electronics and software to provide the highest sensitivity and resolution that deliver consistently better images and aid in diagnosis.
Vascular/Interventional
Rotational angiography gives physicians multi-plane views of anatomical structures with less contrast and reduced radiation dose.
Bi-plane technology provides two simultaneous views of the anatomy.
