Pharmacy Department

The U of L Health Care Pharmacy Department provides comprehensive services to achieve optimal drug therapy outcomes for all patients, families and providers served by the institution.

To meet this goal, University Hospital pharmacists provide decentralized clinical pharmacy services in all critical care and general medicine areas including:

  • oncology
  • bone marrow transplant
  • burn
  • surgery
  • medicine
  • cardiovascular
  • neurotrauma
  • neonatal intensive care

The pharmacy department also takes an active role in the organization and administration of clinical drug research conducted at U of L Health Care.

The Outpatient Pharmacy, located in the Ambulatory Care Building (ACB), works in conjunction with the outpatient teaching clinics to ensure access to appropriate therapy. Pharmacists are involved in several ambulatory clinics including an anticoagulation clinic and HIV/AIDS clinic.2X2_7691.jpg
