Multidisciplinary Team of Specialists in Epilepsy

As a Level 4 Epilepsy Center, University Hospital has assembled a team of specialists each of whom has special qualifications in the monitoring, diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy. The team includes:

• Dr. Pradeep Modur, neurologist with expertise in:
  • Epilepsy
  • clinical neurophysiology
  • video EEG monitoring
  • selection of patients for epilepsy surgery
  • pharmacology of anticonvulsant medications
• Dr. Todd Vitaz, neurosurgeon with experience in:
  • resective epilepsy surgery
  • placement of intracranial electrodes
  • insertion of the vagus nerve stimulator
• Pharmacologists with special interest and training in epilepsy
• Dr. Brad Burton, neuropsychologist with specialization in clinical neuropsychology
• Case Managers with experience in coordination of epilepsy services in an outpatient setting
• Social worker with experience in coordination of epilepsy services in an outpatient setting
• Clinical nurse specialists with certified training in EEG monitoring and epilepsy care
• Rehabilitation specialists including:
  • occupational therapy
  • physical therapy
  • speech therapy
