University Hospital is specially equipped to care for mothers and infants involved in a high-risk delivery:
- Two specialized delivery suites are equipped specially for Caesarian birth
- Four delivery suites are specially equipped to serve mothers and babies with special needs and are equipped with:
- Merlin centralized monitoring system
- Ventilators
- All ICU-level equipment
- Nine bed anti-natal unit for pre-delivery hospitalizations due to pre-term labor or other serious medical conditions
The maternal-fetal specialists who serve high-risk pregnancy patients are nationally noted in several areas of obstetrical care, including:
- Infectious diseases in obstetrics and gynecology
- Immunology
- Multiple pregnancy and delivery
- Principles and practice of medical therapy in pregnancy
- Chorionic villus sampling
- Per umbilical blood sampling (PUBS)
