University Hospital is proud to work side by side with UofL’s James Graham Brown Cancer Center – home to the finest minds in cancer care, research and education in the country.

The Brown Cancer Center embraces a team-focused approach to patient care. This approach leads to a unified, personalized plan that benefits from the combined clinical expertise of multidisciplinary teams of physicians, nurses and other care providers.

Care plans developed by our multidisciplinary teams in partnership with each patient are built on the latest knowledge available from the Brown Cancer Center’s world class translational research. Patients at the Brown are often among the first to benefit from new and emerging treatments available through the cancer center’s clinical trials.

Brown Cancer Center multidisciplinary teams include:

  1. Blood & Marrow Transplantation Program and Clinic
  2. Brain Tumor Clinic
  3. Breast Care Clinic
  4. Gastrointestinal Cancer Clinic
  5. Genito-Urinary Cancer Clinic
  6. Gynecologic Oncology Clinic
  7. Head & Neck Cancer Clinic
  8. Lung Cancer Clinic
  9. Skin Cancer and Melanoma Clinic

These multidisciplinary teams include some of the country’s brightest minds in hematology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, gynecological oncology, radiology, pathology, psychiatry, psychology and more. These teams of medical subspecialists are supported by nurse navigators, social workers and other support services.

Outpatient cancer clinics and services are provided at the Brown Cancer Center, with inpatient treatment services and certain diagnostic services provided at University Hospital.

The Brown Cancer Center is poised to attain National Cancer Institute recognition as a Designated Cancer Center – the only such center in the state.
