Cancer Care

University Hospital is proud that its medical staff is comprised of physician faculty from the University of Louisville Health Sciences Center – home to the finest minds in oncology care, research and education in the country.

The faculty of U of L’s division of surgical oncology, for instance, includes three endowed professors and a membership dedicated to providing the best surgical care in an environment of multidisciplinary cancer care and education.

This dedication has led to the establishment of multidisciplinary programs for breast cancer, melanoma, gastrointestinal, lung, head and neck, and gynecologic oncology.

These multidisciplinary teams include some of the country’s leading radiation oncologists, who serve their patients with the assistance of the most advanced equipment and techniques available.

Outpatient cancer clinics and services are provided at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, with inpatient treatment services provided in University Hospital’s dedicated oncology units.

The Brown Cancer Center is poised to attain National Cancer Institute recognition as a Designated Cancer Center – the only such center in the state.
