JGBCC SURVIVOR AMBASSADORS VISIT BACKSIDE AT CHURCHILL DOWNS FOR MEDIA TOUR

It was an early morning call for the James Graham Brown Cancer Center’s Survivor Ambassadors Jessica Rizzo and Reginald Caldwell.

The two cancer survivors and patient ambassadors for the Julep were on hand for Dawn at the Downs at the Backside of Churchill Downs in the wee hours of Monday morning. The pair were there to represent the JGBCC, tell their stories of courage and spread a message of hope to cancer survivors everywhere.

Colon Cancer Survivor Credits James Graham Brown Cancer Center for New Lease on Life

As a University of Louisville Professor in Health and Sports Sciences, David Britt is surrounded by messages about healthy living. So when he first noticed blood in his stool, he did not delay. He immediately got it checked out.

Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with Stage Three colon cancer. But fortunately, Britt’s assertive action has been key to his successful treatment of the disease at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center.

Cancer Resource Center Newly Christened to Honor Former Patient

Today, the staff and supporters of The James Graham Brown Cancer Center were excited to re-christen its cancer resource center as the M. Krista Loyd Cancer Resource Center as a way to honor a courageous young woman who lost her battle with the disease.

The Raymond Loyd family has generously donated $1 million to directly support the cancer resource center in its ongoing mission to provide information, support and resources for cancer patients and their families.
